700c Tyre Pressure Guide!

Seiring makin banyaknya orang yang pake rim 700c buat commuting, makin banyak pula pertanyaan kayak, “seberapa keras bannya harus dipompa?”
well, makin kecil ban, tekanan bannya justru makin tinggi. kalo diurai secara fisika mah ribet. aplikasinya aja, …ya.
jadi, setelah ngubek-ubek primbon dan bertapa tujuh menit tujuh detik, muncullah perhitungan tire pressure yang didapat dari user manual-nya Maxxis, yang bisa dijembrengkan sebagai berikut:

Rear Tire Pressure
Tire Width = 20c: Pressure(psi) = (0.33 * Rider Weight in lbs) + 63.33
Tire Width = 23c: Pressure(psi) = (0.33 * Rider Weight in lbs) + 53.33
Tire Width = 25c: Pressure(psi) = (0.33 * Rider Weight in lbs) + 43.33
Tire Width = 28c: Pressure(psi) = (0.33 * Rider Weight in lbs) + 33.33
Tire Width = 32c: Pressure(psi) = (0.17 * Rider Weight in lbs) + 41.67
Tire Width = 37c: Pressure(psi) = (0.17 * Rider Weight in lbs) + 26.67

Front Tire Pressure = 90% x Rear Tire Pressure

contohnya, misalnya berat badanku 68kg, kalo dikonversikan ke pounds berarti 150lbs. ban yang kupake, ukuran 700x28c. tekanannya jadi:

Rear Pressure (psi) = (0.33*150) +33.33 = 82.83psi
Front Pressure = 90% x 82.83psi = 74.55psi

selamat berhitung. jangan sampe itu ban kurus tekanannya kurang. snakebite pas commuting, nyebelin… apalagi kalo nggak bawa ban dalam cadangan, atau bawa ban dalam cadangan tapi pentilnya Presta dan nggak bawa mini pump. that sucks. big time. believe me.
